this will go in the minutes probably, but
Anxiety closet (aka www) is now running Solaris 2.3 on a
SparcClassic. Functionally, this means things that didn't break before
might break. Since we have no real knowledge of how Solaris deals as a
hosed server, things can go wrong. Feel free to reboot the machine if
it starts acting strange when necessary.
Secondly, If you do www work on the machine, and choose to log
in as yourself, make sure to
chown www [filename]
chgrp www [filename]
or the web server may not (WILL NOT) be able to read the file. This is
probably the best reason to perform changes as www (or to rcp the file
from the machine, edit it, and rcp it back -- talk to me if you want
an explanation of how to do this).
Third, the ultrix box soon to become bill-the-cat is still in
the machine room. I plan on moving it out of there as soon as
possible, but until that time (I'd like to make sure things work 99%
before re-installing it), It will stay in there.
