Okay.
When I created nocturne.root, I wondered what the convention was, and
examined the root pts entries of other people in an effort to figure out
what it was... but was unable to see any pattern. I realized that 10008979
was probably not the right number. I had intended to ask someone about this,
but hadn't found time.
I recreated nocturne.root with a pts id, 66142 (65536 + 606), which conforms
to the policy you mentioned.
I'd like to add myself to system:administators and SUsers. I'd like to learn
more about AFS administration. I know enough to not do anything foolish --
I've already been through a full AFS clue dump (led by derek and tom and a
cast of thousands) and have listened in on many partial dumps of AFS-related
clue. I've been directly receiving mail sent to sipb-afsreq for nearly four
months now, in an effort to better understand the portion of the
administration of the SIPB AFS cell which takes place via email. I've also
begun wading through the Transarc documentation. (Yes, this is probably not
the most efficient way to learn, but I'd imagine it's the most thorough.)
I even know not to do "vos zap". :-)
Does anyone have objections to me being a member of system:administrators
and SUsers? Please let me know. If no one speaks up in the next week or so,
I'll add myself again.
