We have about 700MB free (but note that it's been almost a week since
the backup volume clonings). Here are the top volumes:
project.tex 536873567 RW 172962 K On-line
project.sipb 536872538 RW 156092 K On-line
project.sipbsrc 536870936 RW 150446 K On-line
project.clisp 536873543 RW 145891 K On-line
project.netbsd.dev 536873982 RW 145195 K On-line
project.outland 536873547 RW 129694 K On-line
clisp doesn't have to be as big as it was. I just freed up 62 meg
by judicious use of `rm.' I also suspect that project.tex
is way out of date since Bert did TeX for Athena. I'll state
that there is nothing there I use (except I did point one user to the
src/Tex-3.141.tar.Z so that he could save getting it by ftp.)
Bert: I think that most of the files taking up space are duplicated
elsewhere now, but I don't know which ones. It might be a good idea to
keep the font sources and tar files of source distributions, but are the
build trees and compiled fonts needed anymore?
If you want something else to blow away, try project.lq-text, unless
Chad is interested in updating it. I played around with it for a while,
but found it buggy and non-portable. Nothing ever came out of it. I
also think it is time to blow away project.babel. You have my
permission to delete the volume. It's all aborted stuff, although I
think that someone should look into using foreign language word lists
with the new ispell again. And project.prospero is another turd I left
which I doubt is going anywhere; unless someone wants to write a
multi-threaded archie server or something, I doubt anyone will need the
stuff in there. Oh, and I am also the deadbeat dad responsible for
project.ktelnet, which 100% useless now.
We also have three user volumes consuming more than 50MB of space,
belonging to mkgray, warlord, and proven.
Eek. I'd have fallen into that category two if my quota didn't prevent
me. I freed up another 25 meg from my SIPB home dir, but the other
stuff I need to have around. It can go home when I get a PC, which will
be fairly soon.
For Yoav: tar --rsh-command is a local hack made by Calvin; I copied
the source directory and built it for the gnu locker, so that feature
should be available tomorrow.
I don't really remember adding this. I certainly can't take credit for
authoring it. I vaguely recall that mhpower might have needed it for
picayune backups or something.
