Eeep... today I discovered that in fact although the
backups are being created in a very "proper" fashion,
the backup software is unable to restore frm them, and
I recently had to do some of the stuff by hand. so:
DON'T assume the backups will be easily restored yet...
explanation.. whoever originally installed the sources
didn't put the restore-gtar.perl file in afs or on any machine..
I used ftp to retrieve it, but currently, it is 2.6 (whereas our
stuff is 2.5). anyway, dump should still work.
