I vos restored the old contents of /afs/sipb/project/{,dec-,new-}charon
from the dump files in /afs/sipb/project/charonvosdu, and made a tar
tape of the contents (after forcing system:administrators rl onto all
the acls). The tape listing is stored as archive-gtar-log.3nov1993.gz
in the directory /afs/sipb/project/foo-server/charon/backups/old-volumes.

On the same tar tape I also included the current contents of
project.beacon-src.backup and project.news.backup. This will, for
example, allow us to retrieve important outdated versions of C news
from tape even after the cleanup of /afs/sipb/project/news. Just what
everyone wanted, I'm sure...

Afterwards, I vos removed project.charon-dec, project.charon64vax,
project.charon73vax, project.charonvosdu.nb, project.dec-srvd.nb,
project.new-charon, and project.new-charon.readonly.
