There are a number of read-only volumes in the sipb cell which normally
only get released when backups are done. I think they should be released
every night. In particular, project.sipb.sun, which contains the sun
binaries for the sipb locker, was not being released, and changes people
were making weren't available. I have installed a script on ronald-ann
called /var/usr/local/sync/release.sh which is run out of crontab at 7AM
every day. It releases every readonly volume in the sipb cell, except for
project.sipb, which should be released by the sync script. A copy of this
script and the modified crontab are in /afs/sipb/project/ronald-ann.
If there are any errors in the process, it will mail them to sipb-afsreq.
The previous message is an example.
