Don't panic, this won't be on the test. And yes, this will all be available
to those who don't pay attention the first time. Here is today's news.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Houston Chronical Tuesday, February 14th, 1928

Wealthy New Orleans Land Owner Dies.

Sources in New Orleans indicate that land tycoon Alberto Valezquez died
of natural causes Sunday morning. Mr. Valezquez owned a tremendous estate
in Jefferson Parish Louisiana, just east of New Orleans. The land was
granted to the Valezquez family by the kings of Spain, during Spain's
brief rule over the Louisiana Territory in the late 1700's.

Mr. Valezquez left no heirs, and no will. Louisiana authorities have
announced that the late Mr. Valezquez's estate will be divided into
reasonably sized parcels and sold at a public auction on Saturday February
25th in New Orleans. The exact location has not yet been announced, but
will likely be either the Valezquez mansion or the New Orleans city hall.

On a more interesting note, it is reported that the Valezquezes had already
sold some of their estate over the past 150 years. However, the family was
apparently inept at record keeping, and no public record exists detailing
any of the sales. If anyone has purchased land from the Valezquezes in the
past, Louisiana officials have given you until noon on the 25th to present
proof of ownership. A deed or copy of a notarized sales contract is required.
Any land not claimed before then will be sold with the rest of the land in
the auction. No official word has been given on whether any such people
owe back property taxes.

Curiously, neither of New Orleans two major newspapers has reported the
death or the announcement about the auction. Well, we certainly hope that
the newsmen in New Orleans get their act together.

New Orleans Register Tuesday February 14th, 1928

3 FEDERAL AGENTS FOUND DEAD IN HENRY PARK!

The bodies of three men were found in Henry Park last night. The men were
positively identified as G-men. No word has come from the Bureau of
Investigations on the victims' identities or what they may have been doing
in New Orleans. Police have no suspects, and no witnesses have come forward.
However, several people in the area did report hearing gun shots around
midnight last night.

We strongly urge anyone with any information about this crime to contact
the New Orleans Register or the New Orleans police department as soon as
possible.
