                           PRESIDENT DIES,
                         PHEASANT PRESIDENT

President Roberto Barcero was killed at 1:19 p.m. Washington DC time
February nineteenth, victim of a capitalist gangwar. Danielle
Pheasant was inaugurated shortly after, and has chosen David Banks
Morgan as her Vice President. President Pheasant will be remaining
here in Russia to negotiate with Ambassador Dahl (USA) for the
release of one Nathan Youngman, a known assassin, who has holed
himself up in the American embassy.

                           NEW HEAD OF KGB

The Politburo would like to announce that Director Seymon Sayis is
now head of the KGB.

               GERMANY IN CONFLICT OVER REUNIFICATION

In the city of Kiel, West Germany, groups demonstrating against the
proposed reunification of the Germanies were violently assaulted by
capitalist warmongering hordes. In opposition to the treaty, it
should be noted that Chancellor Kohl does NOT resognize the border
between East Germany and Poland.

                       CONTRAS KILL INNOCENTS

In the rural hamlet of La Luz, Nicaragua, a band of US-trained Contra
terrorists assaulted innocents, brutally slaughtering a young girl
and injuring a small boy. The Contras also managed to kill four
unarmed Sandinista workers before being overcome. Despite an
agreement to have disbanded, the Contras had been convinced by the
American President to not disband until after the results of the
election were discovered. Where President Pheasant stands on this
issue is unknown at this time.

                        NUCLEAR DESTRUCTION:
                           THE REAL PERILS

The United States created a furor over a single nuclear accident at
Chernobyl, panicking the capitalistic nation about this minor
accident whose damage was quickly repaired up by the devoted labors
of Soviet Communist citizens. Yet over the last forty years, they
themselves have been responsible for dumping many times many
radiation into the atmosphere. Through slow, unrepaired leaks and
repeated minor breakdowns, they have been polluting the entire globe,
making no attempt to clean up after themselves. Their failure to
test and safeguard their plants against even the effects of the
weather, much less a catastrophic disaster, can only be seen as
evidence of capitalistic corruption and unconcern. People concered
solely with profit, and not with the good of the state, build cheap,
inefficient, unsafe devices. Only blind chance has prevent an
accident a thousand times worse that any that might happen here.
Self-centered capitalistic profit-chasing threatens the world, not
with nuclear war, but with nuclear accident. Only a change to
communism can wipe out this corruption and bring concern for the
welfare of the people and the state to the fore.

                         THE WEATHER REPORT

Temperatures in Moscow skyrocketed to day to a blazing thirtyfive
degrees ... below zero. Sergeant Vladimir Dracon of the MVD says,
`It's nice weather ... for Moscow in February.'

                           EDITOR RETIRES

Pravda Editor Roman Empiyer has gone into retirement. Until a more
suitable replacement may be found, Comrade Yevgeny Solo is acting as
Editor. Comrade Empiyer's sudden retirement was brought about by a
sudden urge to serve the state in other ways.

                         THE SOVIET SOLDIER

The Soviet soldier is powerful and renowned not only because of his
weapons. He possesses high moral-combat qualities. The Communist
Party has armed him with invincible Marxist-Leninist teachings which
contain an inexhaustible source of ideological maturity and Communist
conviction for all personnel of the armed forces.

                     AMERICAN COMMUNISM THRIVES

In a rare display of compassion for their fellow comrades, Americans
at the Massaschusetts Institute of Technology will be donating their
blood for others who need. Sponsored by the Technologic Comrades
Association and the American Red Cross, it will be held: In Lobby 13,
March 7, 10am-3pm. In Kresge Auditorium: March 8-10 noon to 5 pm,
March 12-15 2 pm to 7 pm, and March 16 noon to 5pm. A local comrade
was heard saying, `Yeah, dude, I'm gonna give. Like the Marx
brothers said, "From each according to his, uh, something-or-other".'
This move toward our great version of communism is heartening.

                     LABOR RELATIONS SOUR IN US

BAL HARBOUR, Fla. -- Labor Secretary Elizabeth H. Dole, in meeting
with labor union leaders, was accused of, with the American
President, having violated a vow of neutrality by awarding a $120
million contract to Eastern Airlines to end its strike. Mrs. Dole
and Eastern Airlines fervently denied this. The President was
unavailable for comment. It is good to now we in Moscva do not have
this problem.

********* A general announcement to people on instance moscow,
players and non-players.

Instance moscow is an instance being run for the benefit of players
in an MIT Assassin's Guild game set in Moscow.

Players should try and make it clear to non-players that things like
"Gorbachev' s Death" are fictional events, not real ones, as
apparently there has been some confusion over this in the past.
