We missed a couple of things in the rules and the encyclopedia
galactica. We also mentioned a couple things that should be in the
rules at packet handout. Here's that information and some other
information. I recommend that you read this mail. There will
be a test.

The information here has been changed in the on line information
locations.

-------
Rules:

If you have specials, they're ability cards - you'll get them later.
If you don't, then a special is the same as a miss in combat.

A Miss* combat card acts like a Miss unless you know otherwise.

Being shot in the limb reduces your Damage stats by 1 for each limb.
This is cumulative.

Running got a little confused at packet handout. If you are
shot in a leg, deal as if you are a person with two legs (like the
player). This is irrespective of how many legs the character has.

You may use one gun in each hand simultaneously.

Stores: Because Darkstar is a warren of small streets and alleys,
stoeres are not necessarily easily found. The mechanic for this is
8.5 X 11 sheets around campus that say that they are a store. A list
of what the store sells is listed and how much things go for.
If you find a store and want to buy something on the list, go to
the control room and tell the GMs what store you are buying from, where
is it, and what you are buying.

STI: Specific Technical Items. These are like RTIs (Random Technical
Items) but they are items instead of Legos. If you have any, you
are supposed to have them.

------
Encyclopedia Galactica

Able Investment Company: An large investment combine. It manages many
investment funds for various other corporations and people.

FARM, Inc. (changed): Food And Resources Management, Inc. a major
agricultural combine. The President of FARM, Inc. recently committed
suicide.

Weebel (changed): One of the seven great empires, the Weebel are known
throughout the galaxy for their lightning quick tempers and dedication
to what most other races consider the most trivial points of protocol.
They have an uncanny knack for escaping from difficult, normally fatal
situations. Often when a Weebel is thought to have died, to only
show up a couple hours later. The Weebel resemble small flightless birds.

Winstar Trade and Trust: An up and coming investment company.

The value of money: (Many people asked about this)

Everyone has their lodging and food for the week already paid for,
and it probably cost about 3 or 4 credits to do that. Here is a list
of some sample items, not all of which are available from the store:

As many "ordinary" drinks as you want in the bar for one night: 1Cr
A dose of a common drug that's legal elsewhere: 2Cr
A dose of an expensive drug that's legal elsewhere: 7Cr
The smallest RTI's: 1Cr
A stunner: 6Cr
A set of inexpensive formal clothing: 6Cr
A blaster: 15Cr
A ticket on a space liner: 40Cr
a shuttle: ~500 credits
a 1% share of typical Combine stock: ~7500 credits
A freighter: ~30,000 credits

A credit is relatively valuable in this universe. Typical incomes for
high-level civil servants such as ambassadors are perhaps 400Cr per yer,
with what we would think of as middle-class people earning about 120Cr
per year, and normal living expenses for most people are less than a
credit a week. Someone who personally possesses more than about
10,000 Combine Credits can be considered "rich". Someone who has a
couple thousand Credits to their name is definitely very comfortable.
Most people consider themselves lucky if they have fifty or a hundred
credits saved up. For a modern-day comparison, a credit is roughly
equivalent to a $100 bill.

Other:

Many people have been asking who eats what type of food. The major
races are well known in this regard but the minor are not. Here is the
info on the major races:
T'Nari: iso-organic
Weebel: aniso-organic
Gro*ka: aniso-organic
el'Korath:	aniso-organic
Lomin: aniso-organic
Marr: iso-organic
Old Ones:	iso-orgainc

The little pieces of paper in your packets are rumors you heard.

If you know what the Q-word is, good. If not, it means nothing
to you.

Gun stickers are not out yet. Get them later. (Thrusday or Friday
would be a good idea.)

Abilites are also not out yet. Do not ask us about what an ability
does yet. It is likely defined in your ability cards.

The lists of sheets and abilities in the bottom of your character sheet
is not a comprehensive list of what you have/should have. If you
don't have something that you think you should, get in touch with us.

Getting in touch with the GMs

email:	peace-gms@mit.edu
zephyr:	Zephyr class 'peace-gms'. Send something to this class
asking for a GM. If a GM is on line, they will respond to
you directly and then followup with a private conversation.
Do not send game relavent information to this class and do
	not subscribe to this class.
In person: Until game starts, the GMs are likely to be in building
37 in the evenings. This is either in the cluster or in one
of the second floor classrooms. After game starts, the control
room will be in the first floor of building 24.
