By native, I assume you mean that SGI puts it out.  I have installed
the "development options" CDROM but there are not pthreads on any of
the machines in our cluster.  Is the pthreads package supposed to be
on the development options CDROM or is there another place that I
should get these from?  If they are supposed to be on the development
CDROM, then do you have any guesses about why I did not see them
there?  (I.e. are they part of some other package, or did I just not
read the list thoroughly?  --  or perhaps I've just forgotten that I
saw it...)

Thanks for the tip.  I guess I would prefer a native version,
especially on the Onyx which has 8 processors.  One would expect the
manufacturers to provide an optimized version of such libraries.

Thanks again.  I'm looking forward to your reply about where I can get
this software.


PS: Is anyone else aware that there are several members of the
pthreads list whose email addresses bounce stuff sent to them?
