installing threads under Linux

Hi,
I've got a problem installing pthreads under Linux.
I've untargzipped pthreads-1_60_beta6.tar.gz
When I do a configure, I can see the following warning between the other
messages:
configure: warning: No syscall template file
syscall-template-i386-linux-1.0.S found.
Where can I find this file?
When I do a make, I get the following message:

Oh yes, I'm using Linux 2.0.28 and libc 5.4.23
Can you help me please!!!!! I need pthreads here...
