I think you've got it backwards. The child is getting killed/exiting, and
the parent is getting sent SIGCHLD so it knows to do a wait() for it.
BTW, handling fork (as opposed to fork/exec) is a hard problem for many
threads packages, and some of them disallow it. I don't know what rules
Chris has specified...
