After putting on a wrist brace and announcing that this would be his
first time trying to write on a blackboard while wearing one, he turned to
write, stopped, growled menacingly and said, "Arrr... The Claw will get you!"

On being interrupted by the clarinetist across the hall: "It's
terrible: I feel like I'm on the set of `A Streetcar Named Desire.' MIT's
getting very surreal: every morning from 7 to 8 AM for the past 5 or 10
years, some guy's been practicing the trumpet in 2-190. The trouble is, he
always plays the same pieces! I guess that's how you become a great trumpeter.
Humph! Mussorgsky..."

"O.K. You've gotten away with reading one less section of notes for
next time - hmm. O.K., Thanksgiving is cancelled. We'll meet Friday after
Thanksgiving as usual, and if no one's there, too bad." This, of course,
reminds him of "the famous story of (so-and-so), who - oh, I'll tell you next
time. We don't have time." `Whyever not?', we all wonder. =)
