ld.so recognizing minor libraries.

Where can I get a new ld.so (/usr/libexec) that recognizes
my minor libraries? I'm using Xfree86 3.1.2E, and it has problems
recognizing version 6.0/6.1 of libraries.
Would recompiling this file in current-source work?
Should I try to get Netbsd 1.2 alpha?
Or a patch?
