Hello there. I know this isn't quite the right place to ask, but
it's the best one I can think of. Namely, I might be getting access
(high probability) to a DEC Alpha, and I'd like to try putting either
Linux-Alpha or NetBSD on it. My question is; what are the odds of
successfully porting over all the NetBSD/Linux-Athena packages, including AFS?
Needless to say, an Athena Alpha would be one very fast workstation. =)
My main question is about AFS, I guess, since that software isn't
quite free. Does MIT's license allow recompilation/modification for
other platforms?
Thanks,
Edwin Foo
