hi
has anyone ever used netgroups and netgroup_mkdb before
if so, read on...
the man page says:
Each line in the file consists of a netgroup name followed by a list of
the members of the netgroup. Each member can be either the name of an-
other netgroup or a specification of a tuple as follows:
(host, user, domain)
where the host, user, and domain are character string names for the cor-
responding component. Any of the comma separated fields may be empty to
specify a ``wildcard'' value or may consist of the string ``-'' to speci-
fy ``no valid value''.
yet i am almost totally positive (from experimentation) that leaving the
host field blank (to mean "*" or "wildcard" causes mountd to core dump
on startup)
does this sound plausible?
has anyone seen this happen before?
i have tried to get this working for hours and hours, and no one seems
to have ever used netgroups before...
thanx for any help
ps - i am equally convinced that the wildcard thing works fine for the
other 2 fields
