sound card configuration

how do i configure my soundcard (SB 16) to work under netbsd?
when i run xanim, the sound will work through most of the movie
but then drop out and i can get the sound to come back...
in DOS, the card is at base address 220, uses IRQ 5, low DMA
channel 1, and high DMA channel 5...
also, in what locker are the programs to play different sound
files?
