Hi,
prob 1:
I having trouble switching my local home directory from /mit/dedcout
(on AFS) to a directory on my own disk. I want to use the local
directory when I log in on my NetBSD machine at home. I edited the
passwd file with vipw, and set the directory to a local directory with
the right permissions.
But when I log in I get the message: 'can't attach home directory'
and then go on to use a temporary directory. So what else must I do?
prob 2:
I cannot get passwords for local users to work. (not athena users)
I run /usr/bin/passwd username as root to change their password. But
then when they login, they get a message saying they have the wrong
password. I added two users, and their passwords work fine, but all
the users I have tried to add since then have been unable to log in...
any help is appreciated...
