xscreensaver revisited

Hello,
I've had problems with xscreensaver before, here is another.
xscreensaver -L +icon
does not work on netBSD, where it does on Linux. Basically it
should lock the screen right away and exit when unlocked by passwd.
But on netbsd, it starts up, load itself and 'zaway' in the background,
and nothing happens. When another person zwrite you, they get the
answer from zaway, but the screen isn't locked.
