Well, since nobody else seems to be answering, I'll make a couple
stabs at these problems:
(or are the questions answered and I just don't know about it yet?)

For the mouse problems, you should probably send the mouse config
stuff (the Pointer Section) from XF86config, along with a description
of your mouse, to netbsd-help. I'm sure people on this list know what
is right for a Microsoft Mouse.
I assume you have Emulate3Buttons on?

Your mail has potentially merely been moved to .#* So, I'd go into
your inbox, and see if you can undelete them before the remmove
utility goes around and nukes those files.

--
I assume you tried typing zwgc, and that didn't work?

If you did, I really have no ideas. works fine for me.
(but I learn much more from this list then I explain, so it's not
surprising I don't know about this.)

hmm, I just tried exmh, and got the same BgRegister errors.
and then
exmh-bg rendez-vouz with UI - exiting.
and then went on to say it was related to Tk, so look at FAQ 4a&b
under Help

however, it still appeared to work.

exmh's propensity to use emacs might have to do with the env variable
EDITOR
, but, I think the default setting on athena is emacs for that
variable, so I don't see what difference that would make.

Good luck,
Derek.
