Sounds like a good reason to dislike them.

I've built a new install floppy in
/afs/sipb/project/netbsd/dev/machine-specific/nickl/nfsaha.fs,
so try making a new floppy and installing from it.

When you're done, you'll also need to install a special kernel
on your hard disk. WHen the install finishes, ftp the file "netbsd" from
the same directory and install it as /netbsd (or /mnt/netbsd) on your
machine before rebooting.

In all likelyhood -- did it print out ed? devices (in red) at boot time?
