Hi,
I just bought a voice mail/fax modem yesterday, after I plugged it in
my motherboard and boot by MS-DOS, it has the problem of address conflict. It
seems that it occupies 2F8h COM address which is also used by the secondary IDE
HD header by my Mitsumi 4X CD-ROM. However, by pressing <F1> to resume, I can
still use my CD-ROM and fax/modem under MS-DOS and Windows.
Then, when I boot by NetBSD, it has problems. There are some messages
like:
Starting AFS cache scan...found 2747 non-empty cache files (56%)
afsd: All AFS daemons started
Updating cell location information
afs: Lost contact with volume location server 18.70.0.6 in all athena.mit.edu
afs: Lost contact with volume location server 18.145.0.25 in all athena.mit.edu
...
...
then, it won't switch to the xwindow manager.
Could someone suggest me how to solve such problems?
