NetBSD and Linux use the same X server (XFree86), so whatever's an
issue for X for Linux is an issue for NetBSD.  Also, NetBSD is just as
free as Linux, and doesn't have any special deals with vendors.

If the screen folds over on itself, that's usually because the image
is displaced beyond the edge of the screen.  Read towards the end of
/usr/X11/lib/X11/doc/VideoModes.doc (the troubleshooting section) to
see how to fix such errors.

I can't understand what you mean by this.  Do you mean that when a
machine boots NetBSD, and then is booted again under DOS, DOS's time
is displaced one hour from what it was before?  We can test this, but
we've never heard of this problem before.
