hmm.. interesting problem..
haven't seen that before.. could b a bug with XFree
make sure to write it to /etc/XF86Config
make sure you run it as root.
if both of those are valid, could you look for a core file?
and if so, put it in bitbucket and tell us about it so we can
see if we can see why it happens?
