the charset is a mime-header that tells it what charset the
thing is in. Things that don't understand mime will do nothing
with it. Things that do, will hopefully do the right thing.
I'm guessing show is using mime, but incorrectly somehow.
first off, try
add mime
show
just to see if it helps
if not, I don't know what to suggest next..
I will probably need to see the problem..
