Hello, there.
I presume you have a PC compatible? If not, you can
run NetBSD, but the easy installation process is non-existant,
and you will have to read up the INSTALL docs with the platform
you have.
However, if you have a PC, installing NetBSD is a very easy process
which will do everything necessary for getting an athena-like machine
in your room (except for configuring X and a few minor things).
To install, I would suggest you print out or pick up from the SIPB
office (W20-557) the "How to Install NetBSD on MITnet" document.
it's in
/afs/sipb/project/doc/netbsd/netbsd/netbsd-install.ps
This has the instructions you'll need (basically, find some space on your
HD, prepare a floppy with the NetBSD-install stuff, and boot your machine
with it. Answer a few simple questions, and off it will go installing
stuff for you.
