The SIPB-Athena installation is intended to produce something modeling
an Athena cluster machine. The idea is that by sharing large pieces
of software (/usr/athena, /usr/X11R6, /usr/andrew), people can use
very little space on client machines, and most updates will propagate
to client machines quickly. The model we use may or may not be
tolerable for a 56KB line; as Yoav pointed out, after you use your
system for a while you may find that more files are cached and your
system performs acceptably.

Yoav's suggestion was that you copy the entire srvd (200MB); you may
wish to consider copying only /usr/athena (50MB), /emul/linux (small)
and parts of /usr/X11R6 (50MB, but you only need 15MB or so of that).

At some point, we want to give people more installation and
post-installation options for keeping things local, but it will take a
lot of work to simultaneously develop a system where important changes
are local.
