I am having some trouble configuring X.
I thinkk that all the info about the card and monitor I have gotten.
My problems are :
The mouse doesn't work.
The window is not centered on the monitor. It is sort of off to the right. and down.
What I have done so far:
Logged in as root.
Made a symlink to /usr/X11/bin/XF86_SVGA.
Tried to run xdm -nodaemon. (It gives me an error:
Added te shared library stuff to /etc/rc.local
Rebooted.
xdm error (pid 166): process-id file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/xdm-pid cannot be opened
xdm error (pid 166): Can't create/lock pid file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/xdm-pid)
Ran xf86config.
Used PS/2 mouse.
Enable 3buttons
/dev/tty00 for mouse port
I am pretty sure all the other settings I chose were correct.
Xconfig finishes and I type startx >& /tmp/startx.log.
This brings up a screen running X but it is shifted to the righ and down .
The mouse does not work and running xvidtune does something off to the right of the screen which I cannot see.
I try protocol Mousesystems and it still does not work .
Any suggestions.?
