I have just installed NetBSD on my system.
There were a few potential problems.
Currently, the pressing isssue is that when I reboot, I do not think
bootinst is running correctly because the machine automatically starts up
Windows 95. (I thought it was supposed to prompt me which OS to boot up.)
Potential Problems\\;
1) The partitioning choices of the installation did not give me anything
interesting. Only gave me some random small sector ranges.
I am installing the software on a completely empty hard drive which I had
partitioned with fips. (It is a second drive; WIn95 boots off the first
one) I gave 500M to Primary DOS and 535M to a second partition which I
subsequently removed using fdisk. I obviously expect to put NetBSD on the
second 535M partition.
When prompted by the installation software, I chose the second disk and
provided my own start sector and size. (I noted these numbers from bootinst)
2) As the installation was rebooting the machine, it had and error where it
could not umount the / filesystem.
Anyway, I still think the primary issue is with the boot loader not
prompting me for the boot source location.
