Installation Problems

I have been trying to install Linux and that wasn't working so I decided to
try NetBSD. I am using the installation disk that I got off Athena using
dd... it boots from the disk fine but I run into wierd problems once it
starts asking for my network information... it also can't find my network
card (a 3COM 3C590 PCI card)... I was wondering what I should try...
