I think only Mitsumi and SCSI CDROM drives are supported.  Everything
else should be fine.  We've had one report of a problem with NetBSD
and AT1700 cards, although NetBSD works fine with our AT1700 card (on
the machine I'm typing at, in fact).

I can't really make that judgment for you.  I think NetBSD is somewhat
simpler to install and use at this point (what with Linux problems
with ELF and utmp and the like), but not everyone will like it better
than Linux.
