Any guess as to what happens if you tell the kernel exactly where the card
is? (i.e., give it the IRQ and address etc?).. would it just fail to
find the card? or would there be a better chance of success?
furthermore, it seems to me it always finds it aftyer a powercycle, but
never after a reboot. Is it possible some toggle bit or register gets set
to something? Can we not (in the driver) attempt a reset of whatever it is
before looking for the card again? (I'm groping in the dark here)....
