I already replied to this, and forgot to CC the reply here. I've
included the text of the reply at the end of the forwarded message.

Also, for the record, ilin's AT2000 is at IRQ 10, I/O address 300, and
memory address 0xc8000 (he didn't cc those values here).

Subject: new machine..
Date: Sat, 17 Jun 1995 20:25:06 EDT

Hi,
In fact, those questions I asked were for my friend who tried to install
NetBSD yesterday. I have already ordered a ZEOS Pentium75 machine which should
arrive about 10 days later. I also planned to install NetBSD on my new machine.
I worry a little about the compatibility of the video card Diamond Stealth and
S3 968 chipsets.(these are the machine's configuration).

I http://www.diamondmm.com/linux.html to Diamond and found that they are
supported under XFree86 3.1.1u2 or 3.1.2. But it seems that the NetBSD on Athena
uses XFree86 3.1.1, so, I wonder whether I have to call ZEOS to change my
configuration to run NetBSD or not... Please give me some advice. Thanks.

If the X server on our file servers doesn't work for you, you can
simply run a server off of your local disk (you'll just need to get a
copy of the server binary, a couple of megabytes, not the entire
XFree86 distribution).

I have your installation and Athena kernels ready. Get the disk image
in /mit/netbsd/dev/machine-specific/liorna/liorna.fs and follow the
installation procedure as normal. Please tell me when you're done if
it works, so I can clean things up afterwards. (If it doesn't work,
get back to us.)
