Hi,
ok, the experiment with consoles has led me to run the Athena dm, just
because I want a decent X console. =) But now I've got problems with the
Athena console. =(
The first time I boot up and dm starts up, everything works fine. When I
login, etc., messages appear as expected in the console. However, when I
logout, the following message appears in the console right before my
.logout stuff is run:
22:58 stty: TIOCGETD: Inappropriate ioctl for device
22:58
Then the usual stuff from my .logout file is run, and the "Tickets
destroyed" message appears.
The problem is, my console doesn't work at all after this. "talk" requests
are directed to my first opened xterm rather than to the console window.
SU ROOT notices, etc. go to nowhere. A show_console pops up the console,
just as it last appeared as I last logged out. What's going on?
Thanks,
Eric
