question about Xsessions with ssh

I am logging on to the athena xdialups with ssh.
Usually it should automatically enable the displays so
I can run programs on the x server (I was logging on from
a freeBSD machine at lcs as root). However, after I was
given an account on this machine, I no longer can "xhost"
to the xdialups. It complains of an

        Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE

and goes to a tty session.

I have an .Xauthority file in my directory. When I run
xauth list, it returns two entries with my freeBSD machine
name. How can I get Xdialups to work for me again?

Thanks for any help!
