I'm running netbsd 1.3.2 (ATHENA) on my laptop and it's great, thanks
sipb and netbsd.org...
xdm is running I guess, (I have the graphic login screens), but when I
installed, I remember not selecting an xdm option somewhere in the
process.
I'm having some minor problems logging in and out that might be
related. any pointers or suggestions where to look would be
appreciated:
1) my first login after a boot always hangs (haven't pursued where). if
I break the xsession (ctrl-bksp) and login again, starts right up.
2) logout always gives me a console message about nonzero xsession exit
code and bumps me to text mode momentarily, then loads graphic login
screens.
3) (probably unrelated) when loading an application sometimes I get
some painfully long blocks on io and messages to the effect of:
15:40 afs: Lost contact with volume location server 130.237.234.44 in
cell stacken.kth.se
15:41 afs: Lost contact with volume location server 128.40.101.3 in
cell bcc.ac.uk
15:42 afs: Lost contact with volume location server 128.148.37.20 in
cell cs.brown.edu
looks like I'm hunting all over creation for things. any way to
prevent this?
Thnaks,
Bob Fleming
