prelease 8.2 install error

Hi,
I tried installing using the latest floppy.fs from /mit/netbsd/prelease
this afternoon. The install itself completed fine, but upon boot, I
suddenly get a bunch of repeating "shift: can't shift that many" messages
which just continue indefinitely. The machine is a Dell Pentium 120 with a
3c509B and EIDE disk. Any ideas on what might cause that message?
