Hi,
I just tried to do the disklabel command, adding an entry similar to
the one Greg suggested to /etc/disktab, and got an error of something like
bad magic number or checksum or something, and it wouldn't update the
disklabel; actually, I negligently did
disklabel -w /dev/wd0 pd170a
leaving out the -B flag... and now am in trouble, it seems. My box no
longer boots up -- having booted from my boot floppy, and trying to see the
files in my root partition, I now get mostly "file descriptor error" messages!
So I can't even access anything in /bin... before I give up and nuke my disk
and start over =(, what can I do to save the situation? What did I do wrong?
BTW, after doing the disklabel and getting an error, I was then unable to
run disklabel; I got a bus error. So I rebooted, and here I am now...
Thanks,
Eric
