Due to a couple of sendmail upgrades gone awry here I'm having to
re-send some (four) messages to the linux-security list; they got
partially cooked when rogue daemons breathed fire on them.

If you get multiple copies of some of these messages (hopefully not more
than two), don't worry...the problem is known to be in the transmitter
and our best technicians are [OK, OK...our only technician is] working
on it. <grin>

Also due to these sendmail problems: some list members may not have
received one or more linux-security and/or linux-alert messages that
were posted last week (e.g. the CERT advisory "CA-96.07 - Weaknesses in
Java Bytecode Verifier"). If you think that you might have missed
(i.e. not received) a message or two, please check the list archive at:

ftp://linux.nrao.edu/pub/linux/security/list-archive.

Sorry for the inconvenience!
