Just a word of warning - this advisory is ancient history, and the
information it contains is out of date and (potentially) dangerously
misleading.
The current version of sendmail is 8.8.4, and previous versions should
probably not be used at all and certainly not without consideration of
the risks.
[mod: Somehow, CERT advisories keep on popping up in the moderator
mailbox (i.e. they loop between CERT and the linux-security lists).
The fact that I recognise a bug doesn't mean it's been seen on
linux-security. I hadn't noticed the date on the advisory. Sorry for
