Greetings,
Can anyone point me to the proper permissions for sendmail, procmail,
and /var/spool/mail /var/spool/mqueue directories?
The installation of DEC AXP RedHat 3.0.3 comes with sendmail and
procmail set -rwsr-xr-x. However when set like this procmail
consistently has problems with lock files, specifically /var/mail/USERNAME.lock
which not only slows mail delivery, but for a busy user also causes corruption
because locking does not occur.
One fix is to set procmail to -rwsr-sr-x is this secure? Or a big no-no?
TIA
