Hello to all PS/2-Linux-users,
today I (finally) released version 3.2 of the IBM MCA SCSI-subsystem
driver. This release is scheduled to be distributed with kernel 2.2.18.
You can immediately upgrade your kernel by downloading the driver sources
from the usual WWW-page:
http://www.uni-mainz.de/~langm000/linux.html
Major improvements against 3.1e are:
-) Correct recognition of SCSI-adapters on models 95XX.
-) Correct command queueing during recognition phase avoids famous
COMMAND ERRORs.
-) Better performance on CD-ROM drives and variable blocklength
SCSI-devices (e.g. tapedrives).
-) Stabilized interrupt handling.
-) IBM SCSI-2 F/W adapter support, including wide SCSI-addressing on
internal bus. External bus only supported in combined busmode.
-) Maximum possible synchronous datatransfer probing during boottime.
-) Code adapts to kernel 2.0.x - 2.4.x.
