Hello,
Has anyone determined the cause of the SCSI bus reset failures in
Mandrake (and probably other distro's)? I am hanging prior to "second
stage" where 'Drake is attempting to detect devices on the SCSI bus. I'm
recieving messages on console 4 stating that there was a timeout waiting
for the reset, followed by "trying harder..." messages. This appears to
be an endless loop. The adapter is a 2940U2W with two Seagate LVD drives
and a CDROM on the narrow side.
I've heard this has something to do with the CDROM, however I haven't
found a solution. I've tried the Mandrake lists, LinuxCare, and general
AltaVista searches but I can only find this error associated with older
kernels < 2.0.36 with SCSI bus speeds of >= 10M. Doesn't apply
here!
