Hello,
I am trying to get the latest 5.1.29 aic7xxx driver to run on my RH 6.1
machine with kernel 2.2.12-20smp and the Adaptec 29160N (BIOS v2.57.0) card.
I updated the modules as described on Dougs website but now the machne ends
up crashing when it tries to load the driver module.
The message I get is:
/lib/aic7xxx.o: Can't handle sections of type 65537
I have no idea what this message is trying to say. I checked the modules
under /lib/modules/2.2.12-20smp and the aic7xxx.o file got a new timestamp
so I assume that the update got through.
cpio didnt show any errors and mkinitrd also seems to be ok. The initrd
images got updated as expected.
Any idea what could be wrong here?
Thanks for any hints, Harry
