May be an interaction between the Adaptec driver and the sw RAID? Dumping the
sw RAID and seeing if the problem still occurs may be best solution, yes... if
problem no longer occurs, we know the problem is in the sw RAID driver
somewhere (or its interaction with the adaptec driver).
