Could you try a more recent kernel, the latest 2.2.15-pre for
example? Removable devices are not required to support the
READ(6) and WRITE(6) command and I have seen other devices go
haywire even though they appear to work at first. 2.2.15-pre
uses READ(10) and WRITE(10).
