If by chance you mean Adaptec, then the model number & some system info.

Ie: Cpu type: 486,Pentium,AMD,PentiumPro,....
mem & type: 32MB EDO, 64MB 8bit ram,....
Bus type: PCI, ISA, EISA, VLB
And anything else that seems to be informative.

Sometimes it may be necessary to DISABLE PNP to get things
to a runnable state.
