The Adaptec is a normal controller with a SOFTWARE RAID driver under
NOVELL......

Use a RAID controller from DPT (http://www.dpt.com)
The driver for them (eata-dma) has been available for over 
3 years and the controllers are beeing used in many heavy duty
servers around the globe.
