thanks for the explanation of the domain validation.

It does not create the errors.

I checked the hardware again, renewed cables, dropped out the aha2940 and
used the, formerly disabled, onboard aic-7850.

This time I used the whole harddisk (4 GB) for the system and while
copying linux to the harddisk it immediately produced even more
filesystem-errors !

So I checked every option in the PCI-BIOS, AIC7xxx-BIOS, etc. and hopefully
"solved" the problem by disabling the aic7xxx-bios.

The system is now only bootable from floppy ... but that does not hurt so
much, since it seems to work correctly now.
