Hi --
I'm new to the scsi list and haven't seen recent traffic on this, but I'm trying to
find who is responsible for the aic7xxx driver and specifically who made the changes
from 5.1.20 to 5.1.21 (corresponding to the 2213 and 2214 kernels). My Western
Digital drive (a new one, 18.3G) stopped working with my 7890 card (in a Dell 410 box).
Taking the 5.1.20 driver and inserting it in the 2214 kernel seems to work, but
vanilla 2214 and up to 2215pre5 break. My first drive is a SEAGATE and works fine
either way, but trying a mkfs on the device for the WD would cause SCSI timeouts,
basically locking the system up so RESET was the only option.

So...I'm trying to figure out what part of the change caused the problem and seeing
if it can be fixed for 2215.

Thanks,
-linda
